Rhizobacterial Inoculants for Low Input Wheat-based Cropping Systems

چکیده
A large part of the Indo-Gangetic plain has marginal soils, which are depleted of nutrients and sandy with low water-holding capacity. Fertilizers and irrigation are applied to obtain regular yield. However, high usage of fertilizers and inappropriate methods of irrigation lead to a degradation of soil microfl ora and loss of soil fertility in the long term. In close collaboration with other partners form the biofertilizer network, the subproject at Pantnagar tested and validated the capacity of selected soil microorganisms for their use as biofertilizers in fi eld trials. The selected microbial strains were isolated during the fi rst programme phase by the groups GBPUAT, TERI and LAMUN. Two plant growth promoting bacterial strains (PGPR) i.e., R62 and R81 and selected arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) strains i.e. were tested in fi eld trials at four sites under different agro-climatic conditions in two different crop rotations (e.g. wheat-rice and wheat-pulse).

Cropping systems, tillage and fertilization strategies for durum wheat performance and soil properties
Many sustainable agronomical practices can be adopted to contain environmental risks of crop production and, at the same time, sustain yield and quality. In this framework, the aim of this research was to study the effects of continuous cropping (CC) and crop rotation, tillage and fertilization strategies on durum wheat (Triticum durum Desf.) production. The responses of soil properties we...
متن کاملCompare Cadmium Accumulation Trend between Cultivated Soil and Wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) Tissue Affected Different Cropping Pattern and Growth Stage
This research was conducted to evaluate the trend of cadmium accumulation in wheat tissue and cultivated soil affected conventional cropping systems and different growth stage via split plot experiment based on randomized complete block design with three replications during 2014-2015 seasonal year. The main factor included two cropping systems (wheat-rice, fallow-wheat) and growth stage at thre...
متن کاملScope for improved eco-efficiency varies among diverse cropping systems.
Global food security requires eco-efficient agriculture to produce the required food and fiber products concomitant with ecologically efficient use of resources. This eco-efficiency concept is used to diagnose the state of agricultural production in China (irrigated wheat-maize double-cropping systems), Zimbabwe (rainfed maize systems), and Australia (rainfed wheat systems). More than 3,000 sur...
متن کاملPotential use of Iranian rhizobial strains as plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) and effects of selected strains on growth characteristics of wheat, corn and alfalfa
Abstract Many agricultural researches have been performed to improve soil productivity. Nitrogen (N) and Phosphorus (P) are essential elements which are utilized by the plants in large amounts. Phosphorus can be provided by applying chemical fertilizers. Microorganisms convert insoluble phosphate to the soluble form and some bacteria such as rhizobacteria play an important role in this proces...

To evaluate the effect of micro-nutrients spraying on some agronomic characteristics of the safflower (Carthamus tinctorius L. cv. Isfahan landrace), under different cropping systems, an experiment was carried out as split plot based on randomized complete block design with three replications in 2011. Experimental treatments were including: cropping systems (high, medium, low input and ecologic...
